NOTXTâ„¢ App Allows Smart Phone Owners to Disable Texting and Other Features While Driving
June 14, 2010 Orlando, Fla. — Sometimes the temptation to stay off your phone is hard, especially when it rings or beeps with incoming calls or texts. But following the news, consumer safety reports, and proposed state laws, you know that you shouldn’t be talking or texting on your phone while driving.
Well, now there’s an App for that. Haviami Studios Corporation of Orlando, Fla. today announced the creation of a new App for the iPhone 4.0 called NOTXT™, that allows owners to disable texting and other functions while a user is driving. Available July 2010.
The application uses GPS technology so that when you’re traveling faster than 10 miles per hour, your phone prevents you from receiving or sending text or if you choose make outgoing calls. George Distler the Creative Director of Haviami and Executive Director of NOTXT™ says “So far there’s been ongoing attempts at eliminating texting while behind the wheel, but the safest way to deal with your phone while driving is to not use it.†NOTXT™, removes the temptation by preventing texts from coming through while users are moving. “The app is always running, so consumers don’t have to remember to turn their phones off or silence their ringers.†George said.
Why is NOTXTâ„¢ different? There are several great hardware and software options out there to help stop texts and calls, but most are expensive, or come with a monthly service. NOTXTâ„¢costs just $1.99 no other costs are associated with the Application. The App is simple to use, NOTXTâ„¢ works automatically, and completely customizable so owners never have to remember to turn it on. Once the App preferences are set and the App is activated, it will automatically engage and deactivate texting capabilities on your iPhone.
Parents can add the App to the phone, set the settings and lock it with a password so it cannot be disabled allowing owners and parents to turn certain functions on or off anytime.
